Sony Ericsson W61S and W62S for Japan. Sony Ericsson just announced two new phones for the Japanese market - W61S and W62S. The W61S and W62S are the current cellular sensation and are set to make their debut in Japan. With a release date of April 2008, the W61S is loaded with the latest in advanced technology. GMail’s IMAP Fixed on Windows Mobile powered Smartphone. If you own a Windows Mobile powered smartphone and are also using GMail, you’ve probably experienced a problem with GMail’s IMAP. Previously, IMAP did not play well -at least Gmail’s IMAP- with Windows Mobile phone leaving the body of emails blank in some cases. Frustrating problem for folks that moved to Gmail for its simplicity.
In October, Google began supporting IMAP for Gmail. That means messages that mobile users send or receive from their phones are synced with their Gmail accounts, appearing the next time users access their accounts from a computer. Sony Ericsson K850i by Rogers Canada. Rogers Wireless is set to bring the Sony Ericsson K850i phone to Canada. According to some sources, Rogers is expected to get the Sony Ericsson K850i by the end of the first quarter. The Rogers Sony Ericsson K850i is rumored to cost you CAD $199.99 on a 3 year agreement and they’ll even throw in an 8GB Memory Stick Duo.

Nokia N95 8GB NAM approved by FCC. Nokia N95 8GB NAM, Nokia’s flagship N95 8GB model singing along U.S. 3G frequencies has been spotted at the FCC website. Nokia already announced the Nokia N95 8GB NAM on January 7th, 2007, but the FCC approval was nowhere to be found. It just appeared on the FCC pages. It is called the Nokia N95-4, supporting networks using 850/1900 MHz HSDPA (high speed data packet access) in the Americas. Sprint Mogul New ROM with GPS, lacks EVDO Rev. A Support. It seems that a pre-release build (read: based on the official Sprint Mogul ROM) of the new Sprint Mogul ROM has been leaked to the public. The new ROM brings the dormant GPS receiver to life, finally allowing its use to gain positioning data from Google Maps. Ma.gnolia Mobile via Cell Phone. Ma.gnolia web-based bookmarking service finally launched the mobile version of their website. Now you’ll be able to access and view the most popular bookmarks from all users, your contacts bookmarks or your own bookmarks by tag. The mobile version allows searching through your own tags (if you are logged in). It currently has easy access to see that is newly bookmarked in Ma.gnolia groups you follow, your contact’s bookmarks, popular bookmarks, your own tags, and your profile. Nokia Acquires Trolltech For $153 million. Trolltech (www.trolltech.com), a company headquartered in Oslo, Norway and publicly listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange is in talks to be bough out by Nokia for $153 million. Trolltech is a recognized software provider with world-class software development platforms and frameworks. In addition to the key software assets, its talented team will play an important role in accelerating the implementation of Nokia’s software strategy.

Palm Centro for T-Mobile? Palm Centro is rumored to be available soon for T-Mobile. T-Mobile in particular may have been specifically attracted by the strong positioning of the Centro in the youth market – an area that the carrier has always been very specific in targeting. At only $99 with a contract the Centro has clearly attracted a large audience that has been exposed to the iPhone marketing machine but unable or unwilling to buy one.

ShakeSMS Application - Shaking Nokia Phone to Read Text Message. ShakeSMS is an application for Nokia phones that allows you to answer text messages by simply shaking the handset. ShakeSMS is another accelerometer powered application from the Mr Tong Ren, developer of the very well known and very popular FlipSilent application. Shaking a phone to read text messages is as intuitive as swiping your finger across the screen to unlock it, but once you’re trained it becomes second nature.
