Improved WebKit Performance in iPhone 2.0

Improved WebKit Performance in iPhone 2.0
Improved WebKit Performance in iPhone 2.0. According to a bit of graphical bar-graph from Daring Fireball, we can know why our iPhone 2.0 OS Safari is now faster compared to the previous iPhone 1.1.4. OS Safari. Yeah, Web pages consistently load faster on 2.0, both via Wi-Fi and EDGE. The graph basically shows Javascript benchmark performance using different iPhone firmware versions.

Notice the huge jump between 1.0.1 and 1.1.4. In side-by-side page loading tests between two original iPhones running 1.1.4 and 2.0.0, the new version consistently finished at least a few seconds speedier. The initial jump in Webkit’s Javascript performance is definitely more pronounced than the improvement from 1.1.4 to 2.0, but that’s not to say that Javascript on 2.0 is a significant improvement. Internet-fans should thank Apple for the better mobile browsing :)
