Visa to initiate SMS and email Alerts on Credit Card Transactions. Visa along with 8 North American financial institutions — PNC Bank, SunTrust Bank, U.S. Bank, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo in the United States, and Royal Bank of Canada, TD Bank Financial Group, and Vancity in Canada — have agreed to initiate a pilot program with up to a total of 2,000 participants to test the delivery of real-time notification alerts on Visa accounts. Sony Ericsson devices in new colors. Existing Sony Ericsson handsets are now available in new colors, although there’s no official release, but the images have been spotted on other websites; Sony Ericsson G502 in Celerity Red, C702 in Energy Black, C902 in Titanium Silver and Cinnamon Bronze. While W350 has been spotted in Turbo Red and Wisteria Purple, Sony Ericsson W380 is now available in pink, W910 in Lipstick Pink and Prime Silver, and Sony Ericsson W980 in Opera Brown and Violin Red. Rogers BlackBerry Kickstart 8220 price? Following the last rumor about Rogers BlackBerry Pearl 8220 (aka KickStart) Pricing, Here’s now another new rumor says that Rogers will offer BlackBerry Pearl 8220 for CA$149 on a 3-year CA$35 a month plan.
Since this is still a rumor, we’ll have to wait for Rogers’ official release. Stay tuned.

Nokia’s global Ovi site, Sync on Ovi available. Nokia has recently launched the global Ovi.com website to bring all of their web services — including Nokia Maps, Share on Ovi and Files on Ovi — under one brand. The SyncML based Sync on Ovi service, available for both S60 and S40-powered Nokia cell phones, allows you to easily sync your contacts, appointments, and notes to your Nokia account. Nokia 6650 for AT&T. A new clamshell phone will be added to AT&T’s offering in the near future, it’s Nokia 6650. This mobile phone will come with a 3G radio, Symbian S60 3.2 OS (Feature Pack 2), a 2.2-inch QVGA screen, 2 megapixel camera, BP-4L 1500 mAh battery, GPS, Bluetooth, and a microSD memory card slot. There are also bundled applications and games such as AT&T Navigator, Instant Messaging software (AIM, Live, Yahoo), Push To Talk, MobiTV, XM Radio, Music ID, Yellowpages, The Weather Channel, Mobile Banking, Tetris, Diner Dash 2 and 3D Midnight Pool. There are two available colors, silver and red. No word on pricing and release date yet. Stay tuned.

Android Developer Challenge Winners. The winners of the Android Developer Challenge (ADC) has been announced by Google. 50 developers participated in this event and all 50 applications that emerged from Round 1 of ADC I showed great promise. We all have been eager to see who the winners of $275,000 and $100,000 would be. The Top 20 ADC competitors, as well as the finalist group, can be found in ADC gallery here.
Motion-powered chargers by M2E Power in 2009. M2E announced their motion-powered battery charger last year. Recently the company has reported that its system actually works and it’s ready to be released next year. It says that six hours of cumulative motion can add 30 to 60 minutes of talk time to a mobile phone.
Inside the device is a lithium ion battery and a series of coils and magnets. When it moves, an electromagnetic field forms around the coils to generate electricity. The technology, developed in part at Boise State University, optimizes that field to match the slow frequency of human motion and draw a usable current.
