Gameloft announces 20 games for Android Market. Good News for Android-gamers, the popular mobile game publisher and developer, Gameloft, has released a total of 20 games to the Android Market. Via Android Market, an open marketplace, Gameloft delivers a new wave of “mega-games” with superior graphics and gameplay capabilities. Among the titles there are such popular titles as Derek Jeter Pro Baseball 2009, Oregon Trail and CSI:Miami.

Opera joins the LiMo Foundation. Opera Software has recently announced that it has joined the swelling ranks of mobile Linux leaders in the LiMo Foundation. Opera has a long history in developing its browser for the Linux platform and by joining this mobile Linux community the company hopes to contribute to the advancement of open and accessible mobile phone technology.

Google Maps now uses GPS for My Location on Verizon BlackBerry Storm. The Official Google Mobile Blog has recently released a brand new version of Google Maps for mobile that utilizes the Storm’s internal GPS. The Storm is the first Verizon BlackBerry that makes it possible for My Location to access GPS location. After you install the new version on your Storm, you will notice improved accuracy for My Location and Latitude. You can go to m.google.com/maps from your BlackBerry’s browser to download the latest version of Google Maps to your device.
Huawei Android Smartphone finally announced at MWC2009. Huawei finally announces their own Android handset for third quarter of 2009 at Mobile World Congress.

Gigabyte GSmart S1200 unveiled. Gigabyte has unveiled its WVGA touchscreen-equipped Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone, GSmart S1200. Gigabyte GSmart S1200 features a 3.1-inch touchscreen, the S1200’s specs also include HSPA radio, GPS receiver, WiFi, BLuetooth, 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus, Qualcomm’s 528 MHz CPU, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, 1010 mAh battery, and a microSD memory card slot. No word on price but GSmart S1200 will go on sale during Q2 2009.

Nokia 8208 CDMA announced. Nokia has announced new Nokia 8208 for CDMA market. Nokia 8208 CDMA comes with EV-DO 3G, a 3-megapixel camera, 2.2-inch QVGA screen, Series 40 user interface, dedicated music-playback keys, FM radio, standard 3.5mm audio jack, GPS, 150MB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot that support memory cards of up to 16GB. Size wise, it measures 101×45.2×15.9 mm and has a weight of 126.3 grams. The Nokia 8208 is expected to launch in select CDMA markets, in the first quarter of 2009.
