iPhone Firmware OS 301 released by Apple to patch SMS text bugApple has released new firmware update, iPhone OS version 3.0.1 with a patch for SMS vulnerabilities which affect several mobile phone platforms. The bug, exposed at the recent Black Hat security conference, allowed maliciously-crafted text messages to remotely disable or control an iPhone. You can download the iPhone OS 3.0.1 update in iTunes via the “Check for Update” button. As usual, it is suggested that you backup all your data before upgrading.

iPhone 3GI launched by Apple only visible to loyal fansAccording to The Onion, Apple has launched the ‘iPhone 3GI’. But, Apple claims the new iPhone only visible to most loyal of customers. Here’s part of The Onion’s article:

According to Apple, the new iPhone 3GI boasts significant hardware and software upgrades, superior processing speeds, and a multi-touch interface that provides those who are “cool enough” with a rich user experience. The wide-screen display reportedly also features the most brilliant colors and finest resolution ever imagined.

“The new 3GI is as light as air,” said Apple senior vice president Philip Schiller, reaching inside an empty display case, apparently to remove the mobile device. “See how thin that is? It’s like it’s not even there.”

“Those who really understand what we do here at Apple are going to love this new product,” Schiller continued. “Unless, you know, they happen to be totally lame.”

Firmware upgrade version 300011 for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic releasedNokia has released a new firmware update for its touchscreen handset, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. It’s currently available Over The Air (*#0000# from the homescreen) for some product codes. A version for Nokia Software Updater may be released soon. The new update fixes some bugs and makes the device run smoother. There’s now an email plug-in for the homescreen, and this is visible after a full/hard reset. As usual, it is suggested that you backup all your data before upgrading.

Broadcom Bluetooth capabilities featured in these new LGE televisions enable an innovative and personalized user experience by allowing consumers to connect other devices, such as wireless stereo headphones and cell phones, to the TV set.

By enabling the cell phone and headset to interplay with the TV via Broadcom Bluetooth technology, LGE takes advantage of the existing ecosystem of Bluetooth devices to bring advanced audio streaming and digital media sharing features to consumers.
