LG Lotus upgraded with DTV chip

LG Lotus upgraded with DTV chipLG Lotus has been released in the US with a digital TV (DTV) chip – LG2160A ATS-M/H, which will also be used in products from Dell, Kenwood, and Kia.

The DTV-capable LG Lotus is similar to the original phone coming with a QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera, QWERTY keyboard, and microSD card slot.

Nuance acquires SpinVox

Nuance acquires SpinVoxNuance Communications has announced that it has acquired SpinVox, a leading provider of voice-to-text services to telecommunications companies across five continents. By integrating SpinVox’s carrier services with Nuance’s advanced speech recognition platform, Nuance will further accelerate the growth of its voice-to-text business and scale to meet the needs of a growing, global customer base.

Under the terms of the agreement, consideration for the transaction is approximately $102.5 million, comprising $66 million in cash and $36.5 million, or approximately 2.3 million shares, in Nuance common stock.

Samsung Corby Speed CDMA phone launched

Samsung Corby Speed CDMA phone launchedSamsung has launched a new CDMA-based Corby called ‘Corby Speed’ in India via Tata Indicom. The mobile phone has identical specs to the original GSM version such as a 2MP camera, 2.8-inch touchscreen, music player, FM radio, 80MB internal memory, Bluetooth, microSD card, and OMH SIM card slot (CDMA SIM cards).

Samsung Corby Speed is available in white, black and yellow colors, which costs Rs. 10,400.
