NTT Docomo to sell unlocked phones (SIM-free) from April 2011
Japan’s NTT DoCoMo has announced plans to begin selling unlocked phones starting April 2011. According to DoCoMo CEO Ryuji Yamada via Japanese daily The Nikkei, customers will be able to keep their mobile phones and switch to a different service provider simply by replacing the SIM card.
