How to record HD video using jailbroken iPhone 3GS

How to Enable HD video recording on iPhone 3GS? You may be able to record some HD video on your iPhone. Apparently the ARM Cortex processor that the iPhone 3GS uses is capable of HD recording, but the software on the iPhone disables this functionality. Thanks to Mike, he shares a way to get the iPhone 3GS to record video (and playback on the iPhone) at 1080×800 @ 30fps at up to 15Mbps (up from the original 640×480 @ 3Mbps). All you need to get started is a jailbroken iPhone 3GS and the ability to follow directions e.g. install OpenSSH, download HDVideo3GS.zip file and copy it to the handset. Video follows after the jump.
