Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 and Cedar start shipping
Sony Ericsson has announced that the XPERIA X8 and Cedar have now started to hit the shelves of stores around the world. According to the official blog, the key selling point of the X8 Android phone is it’s very nice form factor sitting right in between the X10 mini and the big X10 in size. It gives a bit bigger screen than X10 mini but does have a step-down in e.g. Camera (3.2MP Fix focus) which makes it the most affordable Sony Ericsson Android phone ever.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 also comes with 3G, a 3-inch touch-sensitive HVGA display, GPS, and WiFi. The X8 is equipped with Android 1.6 OS from launch and will get the planned Android 2.1 update later this year.

Sony Ericsson Cedar is the latest addition to the GreenHeart family of phones which like the X8 also features 3G, but with a 2MP camera, and just a 2.2-inch screen. It is an Eco-phone that is made out of recycled plastics and Painted with waterborne paint. It has also “Eco-inspiring” applications such as EcoMate and GreenCalculator.
