TeleNav GPS Navigator 6.2 for Android released

TeleNav has announced that the latest version of TeleNav GPS Navigator, version 6.2. is available for download in the Android Marketplace for AT&T customers (as AT&T Navigator 2.2) using the Samsung Captivate, HTC Aria, Sony Ericsson Xperia 10, or Motorola BackFlip devices. The newest version of TeleNav GPS Navigator is faster loading, faster at obtaining routes, and faster at retrieving search results than previous versions of the app. It packs several handy features, including:

+ Multiple Route Suggestions – This feature will present you with up to three routes overlaid on a map with route distance and estimated drive times. You can then review each route and select the option that best fits your driving needs.
+ Commute Alert – making it easier for you to set and receive detailed information about your daily commute.
+ Quick Search – Located on the application’s home page, a new feature designed to make finding local places quick and easy. There's also predictive search technology to suggest results as you type to make finding your destination faster.
+ Expanded Speech Recognition – which lets you press a single button on the home screen and say what you want. Users can also get answer to questions like “How’s the weather” or “How’s traffic.”
+ New Points Of Interest (POI) search screen interface designed to make searching for business categories more simple.

TeleNav GPS Navigator 6.2 is available immediately to AT&T customers (as AT&T Navigator 2.2) using the Samsung Captivate, HTC Aria, Sony Ericsson Xperia 10, or Motorola BackFlip devices. The application will be available soon for additional Android devices through other wireless carriers.
