SugarSync Now Available for Symbian’s S60 3rd Edition: Bringing the Personal Cloud to Users of the World’s Most Popular Symbian Smartphone OS

Now users of both Symbian S60 3rd and 5th Editions can benefit from SugarSync’s sync, back up and sharing service

SAN MATEO, CALIF., February 14, 2011 – SugarSync Inc., makers of the award-winning SugarSync file sync, backup and sharing service, today announced it has rolled out another mobile application for Symbian users. A new SugarSync app has been developed for Symbian’s S60 3rd Edition, bringing the Personal Cloud to users of the world’s most popular Symbian smartphone OS. This free downloadable software will enable even more Symbian enthusiasts to easily access, manage, and share all their personal content at anytime, from anywhere.

Last August, SugarSync unveiled the first all-in-one sync, back up and sharing service for Symbian OS users with the launch of its solution for Symbian ^3 and Symbian S60 5th Edition, the current version of the popular mobile platform. Due to a high level of demand and requests from Symbian users that are not currently running the S60 5th edition, SugarSync responded by developing a solution for the S60 3rd Edition as well.

“Now all the benefits of SugarSync are available for the most utilized Symbian operating system,” said Laura Yecies, CEO of SugarSync. “We want to bring the benefits of the Personal Cloud to the most possible users so that they can backup, share, sync and access their data anytime, anywhere, and from any device. With this latest release for Symbian’s S60 3rd Edition, we’re enabling hundreds of millions more handset users the opportunity to access their own Personal Cloud by SugarSync.”

SugarSync for Symbian features the ability to remotely access, open, edit, share and sync files via your mobile phone, including documents, photos, music and more stored in a SugarSync account. Support for Symbian, the leading mobile platform in many parts of the world, has enabled SugarSync’s rapid growth in international markets. To help facilitate this growth, SugarSync has now provided localized language support for both the Web and desktop applications in German, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese.

In addition to Symbian, SugarSync supports virtually all computer and smartphone operating systems, including Windows and Mac, plus boasts native apps for iPad, iPhone, Android, Blackberry and WinMo. According to research and advisory firm Vision Mobile's Mobile Developer Economics 2010 survey, Symbian is deployed across roughly 390 million handsets worldwide, including Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Fujitsu and Motorola phones.

The free SugarSync for Symbian app can be downloaded online at http://store.ovi.com/content/54889 or using your phone at http://store.ovi.mobi/content/54889. SugarSync offers a free 5GB version of the full service, with 30 GB plans starting from $4.99/month. To learn more about SugarSync’s Personal Cloud plans, please visit our pricing plan page.
