mydlink Wi-Fi Water Sensor DCH-S160 now available, mydlink Wi-Fi Siren (DCH-S220) launched

D-Link Now Shipping Industry's First Wi-Fi Water Sensor -- Device Can Save Customers Thousands of Dollars by Detecting Water and Alerting Users Before Serious Problems Occur.

D-Link has announced immediate availability of its Wi-Fi Water Sensor (DCH-S160), a compact device that plugs into an open power outlet and alerts users with a loud siren whenever it comes in contact with water. In addition to the audible siren with six different customizable tones, customers will also get push notifications with the free mydlink Home app on their smartphones or tablet to ensure they're aware of a water leak no matter their location.

The Wi-Fi Water Sensor can be placed near washing machines, sump pumps, water heaters, sinks, dishwashers, refrigerators, or anywhere in the home where a water leak may occur. The Water Sensor comes with two cables: a 3.3 feet extension cable and a specially designed 1.6 feet sensing cable that detects water along its entire length. When water is detected, a 70dB alarm will sound and an LED will flash to give users audio and visual warnings.

D-Link® also announced the launch of a companion product, the Wi-Fi Siren (DCH-S220). The siren can be paired to work with the Wi-Fi Water Sensor (or other D-Link compatible devices1) to generate an additional audio alarm from another room or even another location.

"Anyone who's ever experienced a flood in their home knows how costly and inconvenient they can be, and our new Wi-Fi Water Sensor is a great solution to give homeowners and renters a quick way to catch a leak before it turns into a disaster," said Daniel Kelley, vice president of marketing, D-Link Systems, Inc. "The Wi-Fi Water Sensor connects to an existing home network so they can easily be placed near any appliance or in the home where a water disaster might occur. As an additional option, users can get additional sirens going by pairing the new Wi-Fi Siren with the Wi-Fi Water Sensor."

With the high cost of home water damage these days, D-Link's Wi-Fi Water Sensor is the ideal solution for the DIY user. It will give customers peace of mind and could save them thousands of dollars in costly water damage repairs.

D-Link's Connected Home solutions truly simplify home automation and security. The mydlink Home app features an intuitive design that is easy to navigate and fun to use, and both the Wi-Fi Water Sensor and the Wi-Fi Siren use a simple one-button installation – simply press the WPS button on the Water Sensor, on the Siren and on the existing router to connect to a home network in minutes.
