ROBLOX Brings Community Created Gaming To Xbox One
World's Largest User-Generated Gaming Platform Launches in the Xbox One Store, Starting December

SAN FRANCISCO -- ROBLOX, the world's largest user-generated gaming platform, announces that it will launch ROBLOX for Xbox this holiday season. Beginning in early December, over 20 of ROBLOX's top indie titles will be available via the free ROBLOX app in the Xbox One Store. With the launch, ROBLOX becomes the only platform where game designers can code a game once and push it to desktop, mobile, and now console.

"ROBLOX for Xbox gives our developer community the opportunity to receive high-profile exposure for their games, and it promotes game development to the broader Xbox audience," said ROBLOX CEO, David Baszucki. "We believe the future of video games will be much more diverse, with anyone being able to bring a game concept to fruition in the same way online video platforms like YouTube have enabled millions of aspiring filmmakers like never before."

ROBLOX for Xbox will be one of a handful of free games currently available on Xbox Live and will allow ROBLOX developers to make money via in-game transactions. "Earnings from my ROBLOX games help to pay for college so being able to reach more players on Xbox is awesome," said 19-year-old ROBLOX developer, David Narkkala. "And playing my game on the big screen is just so fun."

"Microsoft has a longstanding commitment to support indie development," said Chris Charla, Director of ID@Xbox "Including ROBLOX for Xbox is a great way to connect with and encourage the next generation of developers coming up on ROBLOX."

After the initial launch, ROBLOX plans to add new games to its Xbox app in 2016. ROBLOX for Xbox will also offer new exclusive characters and unique achievements. ROBLOX already sees over 15 million visitors each month across PC, Mac, Android and iOS devices. ROBLOX for Xbox will be rated E10+ for fantasy violence (online interaction not rated by ESRB) and will require an Xbox Live Gold membership to play. The tentative launch date is December 3rd, 2015.
