ZTE’s Magic Radio 4G LTE Solution Delivers 50% Spectral Gain for China Unicom

Magic Radio network optimization technology proven to deliver large increases in uplink and downlink throughput rates of LTE data services

Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation, a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, is pleased to deploy its Magic Radio network optimization solution to help China Unicom achieve a 50% spectral gain on its 4G LTE network in Fujian province, delivering a superior Mobile Internet experience to end-users.

ZTE’s Magic Radio technology is proven to enable improved frequency spectrum management for China Unicom, allowing part of the carrier’s GSM network bandwidth to be released for the 4G LTE network. The dynamic GSM/LTE bandwidth expansion function of Magic Radio helps China Unicom maximize frequency usage, resulting in large increases in uplink and downlink throughput rates of LTE data services.

Magic Radio integrates innovative technologies including dynamic GSM/LTE bandwidth expansion and dynamic GSM frequency sharing, which are proprietary to ZTE, as well as negative GSM/LTE guard band and GSM/LTE collaborated scheduling, enabling operators to deploy GSM and LTE networks on the same frequency band.

The ZTE Magic Radio solution can be deployed by operators in large-scale networks. Better yet, the dynamic bandwidth expansion function on Magic Radio can be used together with dynamic frequency allocation and carrier aggregation to further improve spectrum efficiency.
