According to Apple, this version includes improvements, bug fixes, and supersedes all previous versions. Some users are reporting that they have faster internet browsing, the iPhones running faster, typing lag reduced, and transition from music list to CoverFlow has been updated. Chinese 3G aka TD-SCDMA subscriber volumes falling short of expectations. Following the previous report about Chinese 3G aka TD-SCDMA integrated by Digia to Nokia S60 platform, According to China’s CCID Consulting, the number of TD-SCDMA subscribers is expected to reach 2.31 million by the end of this year, falling substantially short of the optimistic projection of 20-50 million subscribers. Since China Mobile launched TD-SCDMA trial operation in early April, the company has so far attracted slightly over 50,000 subscribers plus 8,000 trial business users, CCID noted. Skyfire Mobile Web browser adds Silverlight support. Skyfire gets Silverlight support without its users having to install a new plug-in or even update the browser version. Skyfire browser is currently in private beta on the Windows Mobile and Symbian platforms.

MobiDog Mobile Game by RSPCA. A new mobile game has been launched by the Animal welfare charity, RSPCA, called MobiDog. The mobile game which is developed by UK company Lateral isn’t just another virtual pet game, but it’s a collection of dog-themed mini-games based on classic arcade games. The message is educating gamers about the Animal Welfare Act here in the UK, and how they can better look after their dogs.

Lenovo P960 with fingerprint biometrics security. A new mobile phone has been launched by Lenovo, called P960. Lenovo’s P960 has a dual-band GSM/GPRS radio on board, 1.3 megapixel camera, 2.8-inch touchscreen display, and a microSD memory expansion slot. It has also an innovative “VIP recording” feature that automatically records calls from designated numbers. What’s interesting is the mobile phone comes with fingerprint biometrics security powered by Atrua Technologies. The fingerprint biometric technology is used in the P960 to protect sensitive data such as VIP recordings, text messages, call history, and address book information.

Deal or No Deal Mobile Game by EA Mobile. Gameloft previously had the privilege, publishing Deal or No Deal almost two years ago, since which time it has become the biggest selling mobile title ever. And now, EA Mobile has announced that it has obtained the rights to publish this Deal or No Deal (2008) mobile game that’s based on Endemol’s Deal or No Deal television series. Deal or No Deal Mobile Game by EA Mobile will be out in November.
