Verizon 4G LTE hits 50 MbpsVerizon Wireless has announced that its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network field trials in the United States have demonstrated wireless data speeds that are significantly faster than today’s 3G network speeds. Trials in Boston and Seattle indicate the network is capable of peak download speeds of 40 to 50 megabits per second (Mbps) and peak upload speeds of 20 to 25 Mbps. Novatel Wireless completes 18Mbps 4G-WiMAX Call With MiFi Intelligent Mobile HotspotNovatel Wireless has announced that it has successfully completed over the air testing of its new MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot prototype based on 4G-WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access). Novatel’s WiMAX implementation immediately achieved throughput of 18Mbps in over-the-air testing and can support theoretical peak throughput speeds exceeding 30Mbps downlink and 10Mbps uplink in a 10 MHz channel. Sprint 4G WiMAX phone available this summer HTC SupersonicAccording to Forbes, Sprint confirmed that its first WiMAX phone will be available this summer, in the first half of the year. The phone could probably be HTC Supersonic Android phone. From previous report we know HTC Supersonic comes with Android 2.1, 4.3 inch WVGA touchscreen display, 5 megapixel camera, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, FM radio, and a kickstand on the back. Samsung N150 LTE netbook has been announced at the Mobile World Congress. The first LTE (Long Term Evolution) netbook by Samsung comes with Samsung’s own in-house designed LTE modem chipset, Kalmia. The Samsung netbook N150 is currently available in market with HSPA 3G communications and WiFi access and will become commercially available with LTE according to service schedule and market demand. Novatel Wireless announces First Successful 4G LTE Data TransmissionNovatel Wireless has announced that it has successfully completed the first data transmission call using Long Term Evolution (LTE) 4G technology. LTE provides high data rates of up to 50 Mbps on the uplink and 100 Mbps on the downlink and an enhanced user experience by leveraging new, wider bandwidth spectrum. Many operators are already planning to overlay LTE on their 3G networks to augment data capacity. Novatel Wireless is working with operators and plans to launch commercial data devices in late 2010. iPhone 4G to be available in June?

iPhone 4G to be available in JuneAccording to Korean sources, KT (South Korea’s second largest mobile carrier) will introduce Apple’s 4G iPhone in April, and the iPhone 4G will come to local distributors in Korea sometime in June. They say the 4G iPhone is going to be loaded with dual core processors, OLED screen with higher and powerful graphic chips, better camera, support for video chat, a removable battery. KT is also considering a mobile-TV service through the new iPhone. In addition, the iPhone 4G will probably be produced in China, similar to the iPhone 3GS.
