ASUS Glaxy7 to be Omnia-killer? A new rumor says a new mystery smartphone called the Asus Glaxy7 will fight Samsung Omnia. The touch mobile phone will feature Glide 1.5 UI, 3G, GPS, a 5 megapixel camera, trackball, touchscreen, front-facing video camera, an accelerometer, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and a nice, beefy 800X480 WVGA screen. According to the rumor, it may be launched in October.

Windows Mobile 6.1 Firmware Update for ASUS P527. ASUS has released Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM update for ASUS P527. In this new WinMo 6.1 firmware, there are some bug fixes related to media playback, voice calls, and date/time.
It also brings enhanced GSM/EDGE radio functionality for a speedier data connection and a refreshed interface.

Asus ZX1 Lamborghini, P560, M536 canceled. Asus ZX1 Lamborghini Windows Mobile smartphone has been officially canceled by Asus along with both the upcoming P560 and M536, all will not be launched either. Nevertheless, Asus assured us it is not exiting the PDA-phone business and that it is targeting to launch a new device in this category come September.

Asus GM5 aka O2 Xda Zest WinMo Smartphone? Global Certification Forum just approved the Asus GM5, codenamed “Christal” which seems to be developed for O2 as the “Xda Zest”. Like all other Xda phones, this smartphone will most likely run Windows Mobile, it has also triband GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz), singleband UMTS (2100 MHz), UMTS video telephony support and browsing capabilities. No word on release date yet. Stay tuned.

Garmin Nuvifone to be manufactured by ASUS? Following on the possibly Garmin Nuvifone in white version alongside the confirmed Black Nuvifone, A new rumor said that Garmin has announced that it has, for the first time ever, outsourced production of a device. Nuvifone will apparently be manufactured by ASUS. According to DigiTimes, industry sources pointed out ASUS has been working with Garmin for two years on the project, with the Taiwan-based maker chiefly contributing its know-how in RF technologies. Garmin’s director of OEM and mobile marketing, Roger Jollis, confirmed that the first Nuvifone will be the first in line of Nuvifone-branded devices planned for the next few years. Stay tuned.
