The lucky folk at TechCrunch managed to get their hands on the Dell Mini 5 from Michael Dell at a recent show in Switzerland and have posted a video for the world to see. The Dell’s Android-powered tablet has a 5-inch 800 x 480 display, a 1GHz Snapdragon, 3G, Android 1.6, 5 megapixel camera with flash, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
AT&T has announced plans to launch five new devices from Dell, HTC and Motorola based on the Android platform. Those devices, which are scheduled to be available during the first half of 2010, include:
+ A Motorola smartphone, powered by MOTOBLUR, with a unique form factor and an AT&T exclusive
+ Dell’s first smartphone, based on the Android platform and an AT&T exclusive

A new report says that Dell MID (Dell Streak) may be heading to AT&T in 2010. China Times is reporting that Dell will actually have a variety of MIDs produced by Taiwanese manufacturer Qisda. Dell MID (Dell Streak) has recently appeared in Vietnam – coming with Android 2.0 Eclair, 3G connectivity, WiFi, 5 megapixel camera.
Dell has confirmed plans to enter the smart phone business and announced partnerships with two of the world’s largest mobile operators. The company plans to distribute its new Mini 3 smart phones through China Mobile, the largest telecommunications company in the world with more than 500 million customers, and Claro, which serves more than 42 million people in Brazil as part of the America Movil network.
In addition Dell has existing agreements with other leading global telecom providers, including Vodafone in Europe; Australia/New Zealand, AT&T and Verizon in the U.S.; M1 and Starhub in Singapore; and Maxis in Malaysia, creating more opportunities to meet the needs of a connected lifestyle.
Dell’s Mini 3 smart phones will be available in stores, anticipated in late November for China Mobile and year’s end for Claro.
Dell Mini 3iX passes the FCC with WiFi and 3G support on the 850Mhz and 1900Mhz frequencies used by AT&T. The Dell’s Android phone will feature a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 3-megapixel camera, GPS, 3G data and a microSD card slot.
We’re already aware of the Dell Mini 3i launched this summer in China. Recently, we’ve heard that a new version will be launched in Brazil. Called, the Dell Mini 3iX, it looks similar with the Chinese version, but instead of running oPhone – the Chinese version of Google Android, it apparently runs the original Android. If the specifications found in the Chinese version remain unchanged, it will feature a 3.5 inch screen, 640 x 360 pixel resolution (262k colors), GPS, WiFi, 3G on the 850, 1900 and 2100 MHz bands, a 3 megapixel camera, microSD card slot. It measures 122 mm x 58 mm x 11.7 mm and weighs 103 grams.
New Android 2.0 powered device has apparently been leaked. Called The Dell Streak – as the prototype is labelled – The device is a 5-inch WVGA 800 x 480 touchscreen Android 2.0 Donut MID, with WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G WWAN connectivity, a 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, a microSD card slot and a 1,300mAh battery.
