Alltel Palm Treo 700wx ROM update. Following the previous Verizon Palm Treo 700p ROM update, a new ROM update is also available for Alltel Palm Treo 700wx, it’s version 1.12. This is a ROM update to fix a phone reset issue that occurs under certain specific and rare conditions.

Verizon Palm Treo 700p ROM update. A new ROM update has been pushed out by Palm for its Verizon Palm Treo 700p, it’s version 1.11. This is a radio ROM update to fix a phone reset issue that occurs under certain specific and rare conditions. The Palm Treo 700p’s v1.11 ROM can only be applied to handsets that are already running the v1.10 ROM. In case your Palm smartphone is still sporting v1.06 ROM. You have to upgrade to 1.10 ROM before applying this new v1.11 ROM update.

Apple can Blacklist and Disable iPhone Apps. Newly discovered code within the iPhone 2.0 Firmware and the newer iPhone 2.0.1 OS has confirmed that Apple has built a blacklisting mechanism in to the iPhone. The device can phone home, check for unauthorized applications, and disable them. New Beta of iPhone 2.1 Firmware with Push Notification Service. As a follow-up to the previous iPhone 2.1 Firmware beta + GPS features, Apple has released another 2.1 firmware release to developers (2nd beta), iPhone 2.1 SDK with Push Notification Service. The new version appears to include several bug fixes.
“This is the second beta of the iPhone SDK targeting iPhone OS 2.1, including bug fixes to iPhone OS as well as an early implementation of the Apple Push Notification Service API. This API is not yet integrated with a live push server.”
No word on the final version of iPhone 2.1 Firmware release date, but the included “Push Notification Service” was promised by September.

Installer 4 screenshots for Jailbroken iPhone 3G. The RiP Dev team that brought us the first Installer application for jailbroken iPhones, has posted an update on their blog stating that Installer 4 is in development and should be available in the near future. They are currently in the final stages of hooking the GUI to the back-end. In addition, Installer 4 now uses the new repository structure which is aimed at minimizing the traffic for both repo owner and the user, as well as expands the standard a little bit.
