Thanks to Eric Rudder, Microsoft’s senior VP of technical strategy, showing off a 2D arcade-type Indiana Jones game on a prototype Asus smartphone, Xbox 360 and Windows 7 PC during the Tech-Ed Middle East 2010 in Dubai. Big in Japan acquires Snappr to expand ShopSavvy Barcode ScanningDeveloper of ShopSavvy, Big in Japan, has announced that it has acquired Snappr, a pioneer in mobile barcode scanning and creator of the first iPhone application capable of scanning 2D barcodes. The company will incorporate Snappr’s technology into ShopSavvy, the leading comparison shopping app for Android and iPhone users.

Adobe Photoshop for Android Developers

Adobe Photoshop for Android DevelopersAdobe Systems has released a new version of its Photoshop.com Mobile app for Android phones. Photoshop.com Mobile 1.1 for Android adds new Contrast and Brightness editing tools, as well as new fun photo effects: Vibrant, Pop, Vignette Blur, Warm Vintage, Rainbow, White Glow, Soft Black & White.

Adobe also makes Photoshop.com Mobile editor available to third-party android applications! It means that any developer of an Android application can actually embed the editor into their application.

Palm webOS 1.4 SDK now available

Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Mobile for iPhone available for download

Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Mobile for iPhone available for downloadAdobe Acrobat Connect Pro Mobile is now available for FREE download. Connect Pro Mobile offers users mobile access via an iPhone or iPod touch to rich communications including collaborative meetings, training sessions and Web seminars. This application was developed using the Flash platform and the Packager for iPhone to publish it as a native iPhone application.

You can watch and listen to live presentations including real-time presenter webcam video and screen sharing demonstrations. You can see who is in the meeting at any given time, and collaborate with others using live text chat. VoIP meeting audio will broadcast straight to your device over a WiFi or 3G connection, or the meeting host may give you the option to join a telephone conference call.

Adobe will be able to use the same code to deliver this application on other mobile devices when AIR for mobile devices becomes available later this year. Adobe also anticipates iPad users will be able to take advantage of Connect Pro Mobile as well.

Recognizr brings face recognition to Android

TAT (The Astonishing Tribe) has been developing a new augmented reality application for cell phones. The Recognizr app will enable Android phones to recognize your buddies’ faces and what web services and social networks they’re connected to, like Skype, YouTube, Facebook, and more. By aiming your cellphone at someone’s face, the app will associate it with profile pictures in your contact lists.
