ClearPad Sensor for Touchscreen SH906i Clamshell. Synaptics announced today that its ClearPad™ solution is driving the interactive touchscreen in NTT DOCOMO’s new SH906i clamshell handset. Sharp SH906i is the first ClearPad-enabled touchscreen mobile phone in Japan’s mobile handset market. The SH906i uses Synaptics’ ClearPad technology to enable finger-input character recognition capabilities for Japanese character entry. The combination of the SH906i character recognition software and Synaptics ClearPad solution improves usability for regions with more complex alphabets. LG Prada with HSDPA for NTT DoCoMo. A full touch screen mobile phone, “PRADA Phone by LG”, was just announced by NTT DoCoMo to be marketed for the Japanese cellphone users. The PRADA concept is faithfully represented in a special leather case, accessories and custom-tailored screen graphics that accompany the handset.
LG Prada features include an intuitive, full-size touch screen with vibration touch to improve usability. This function activates whenever users touch screen icons to make a call, use e-mail, take and view photos or listen to music. Nokia 6124 to support NTT DoCoMo’s i-mode. Nokia in cooperation with Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) will launch a customized handset, the 6124 classic. Nokia 6124 Classic will be coming to Taiwan market with support for i-mode. The Nokia classic i-mode, which supports 3.5G HSDPA technology, will be Nokia’s first customized handset that supports NTT DoCoMO’s i-mode value-added services, said CK Cherng, general manager, Nokia Taiwan. Over 100 million Panasonic Mobile Phones were sold. Panasonic Mobile Communications Co., Ltd (Panasonic Mobile) announced that at the end of March this year it became the first mobile phone manufacturer to achieve a record delivery of 100 million units of mobile communication terminals to Japanese mobile phone carriers. Toshiba get sued by Fujitsu for cellphone Clone. NTT DoCoMo and Fujitsu hosted a press conference stating that they have already filed a legal suit, demanding Softbank to withdraw Toshiba’s Kandan Keitai 821T from the market, which is an alleged copy of Fujitsu’s Foma Raku Raku Phone III.
