CDMA Nexus One on FCC?

CDMA Nexus One on FCCA device similar to the “superphone” by Google, Nexus One has passed the FCC with dual-band CDMA EVDO radios. The FCC documents describes the model number is PB99300, which is very similar to Nexus One, PB9910. There is a strong probability that the new HTC phone is the CDMA version of the Nexus One. The device is at the FCC, meaning we could see it hitting some U.S. operator’s portfolio (Verizon?) in the near future.

Motorola confirms a Google-branded phone

Motorola confirms a Google-branded phoneAfter the first Google-branded phone Nexus One, made by HTC. It seems the next Google-badged phone may come from Motorola. Motorola has confirmed that it will make a phone “with Google”.

Chief executive Sanjay Jha told those on the call that 20 smartphones are on tap for the year and that one of them will be a “direct to consumer device with Google,” much like HTC’s Nexus One. He didn’t provide details of the phone or a schedule for when it ships.

Google Earth on Android previewedGood news for hikers and backcountry folks, Following on the launch of ‘Nexus One‘, Google Earth for Android was also launched at the Android Press Conference. Google plans to release Google Earth as an Application on Android in the near future. The app lets user explore locations in fly-by/bird’s eye view.

In case you aren’t aware of Google Earth, it’s more detail than Google Maps. The app lets you fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings, from galaxies in outer space to the canyons of the ocean. You can explore rich geographical content, save your toured places, and share with others.
