Following the previous Virgin Mobile USA + Helio Acquisition not long ago, Two new cellphones by Helio have been released for Korean market, they are called “White Mysto” and “Red Heat”. Both devices are now available from Helio, they will be making initial stock of the White Mysto and Red Heat available to Korean customers.

Virgin Mobile USA + Helio Acquisition for $39 million. Virgin Mobile USA announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Helio, a joint venture between SK Telecom and EarthLink, Inc. (Nasdaq: ELNK) providing highly advanced postpaid products and services with unique user applications. Under the terms of the agreement, Virgin Mobile USA will acquire Helio from SK Telecom and EarthLink for limited partnership units equivalent to 13 million shares of Virgin Mobile USA class A common stock, with a value of $39 million based on the closing price of Virgin Mobile USA’s class A shares on June 26, 2008. Following the previous posts, we saw Helio Ocean 2 (OZ2) on FCC and the price-drop : Helio Ocean $99, Ocean 2 soon? and now we hear that the next-generation Helio Ocean will sport a 3 megapixel camera, 30 fps video recording, 1 GB storage. Helio Ocean 2 with its dual-sliding form-factor also features microSDHC card slot for memory expansion, touch-sensitive directional pad, Flash support, and PC sync support.

Helio Ocean $99, Ocean 2 soon? We already saw the new Helio Ocean 2 (OZ2) on FCC, Helio has recently dropped Ocean’s price to just $99 after mail-in rebate. It’s a bargain especially if you’re already using Helio’s services and send text messages like all the time. We can’t wait for Helio Ocean 2 to be available soon. Stay tuned.

Helio recently enabled an option for their handsets (Helio Mysto, Helio Fin, and Helio Ocean) that gives the user the choice to automatically receive any messages sent to Helio Mail. Not only will Helio actively push emails (from any Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail/Live, AOL email account) to your Helio Mail accounts (*@myhelio.com), but the new push-email service will be also compatible with any POP and IMAP email account. The Helio unlimited plan offers unlimited voice minutes, data, and SMS text messages for a new, low price of $99. Helio really means unlimited when they say that this is the unlimited plan. There are no limits on minutes, text messages, video messages, instant messages, emails, 3G web surfing, GPS services, file transfers, or use of MySpace Mobile. A flat rate with no surprises.
