Helio Ocean 2 now official. The second generation Ocean has officially been debuted by Virgin Mobile USA. The mobile phone comes with a 2.6-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels) screen, dual-sliding mechanism that ensures room for both numeric keypad and QWERTY keyboard. Helio Ocean 2 has 3G enabled (EV-DO), a 2 megapixel camera that can take both photos and videos, built-in GPS receiver along with Google Maps and support for geo-tagging. There is also a standard 3.5mm headphones jack, microSD expansion slot – included in the package is a 512MB memory card. Interested users will also get pre-installed apps such as media player, IM client, document viewer, email client with Exchange support, social networking software for easy access to Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and Flickr. Helio Ocean 2 goes on sale for $149 on a contract on February 12th.
Helio Ocean 2 to be launched by Virgin Mobile USA via Britney Spears concert tour. Virgin Mobile USA will sponsor the upcoming Britney Spears concert tour, and will use the event to launch the most anticipated Ocean 2.
Helio Ocean 2 will sport a 2 or 3 megapixel camera, 2.6-inch QVGA screen, 2GB of internal storage, microSD expansion slot, both full QWERTY keyboard and numeric keypad (like the original Ocean), 3G radio (EV-DO), full HTML browser, support for an array of Helio services, and more.

Following on the previous Helio Ocean 2 on FCC, Helio Ocean 2 has been spotted with a 3 megapixel camera (not what was listed in the FCC-submitted user manual). Other specs include 3G over EVDO, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and standard slider number pad.

We also already heard the previous report that the Helio Ocean II is going to be in early 2009. Helio Ocean 2 in 2009. Following the previous Helio Ocean 2 spotted in the wild, At CTIA, Virgin Mobile spokeswoman Jayne Wallace committed to releasing its follow-up, the Ocean 2 – but unfortunately, in 2009. Rumored specifications include a 3 megapixel camera, 30 fps video recording, 1 GB storage, microSDHC card slot for memory expansion, touch-sensitive directional pad, Flash support, and PC sync support.
“The Ocean 2 is not going to be 2008,” Wallace said. “It has been manufactured, and there is a commitment to putting it on the market, but it’s going to be in early 09 … just because the shell has been manufactured doesn’t mean it should be released right now. We want to put it out when it’s the best it can be.”

Following the previous Virgin Mobile USA + Helio Acquisition not long ago, Two new cellphones by Helio have been released for Korean market, they are called “White Mysto” and “Red Heat”. Both devices are now available from Helio, they will be making initial stock of the White Mysto and Red Heat available to Korean customers.
