TELUS LG Banter is available for free on a 3-year contract, $99.99 on a 2-year, $149.99 on a 1-year or $199.99 sans contract.

2010: Nokia S40 phones to feature QWERTY, dual-SIM, and touchscreen

Nokia has confirmed that its S40 phones in 2010 will get QWERTY, dual SIM and touch screen support. Here is a quote from Kai Öistämö, Executive VP of Devices, his speech at Nokia Capital Markets Day on Dec 02, 2009:

“Next year you can also expect other developments in Series 40 such as adding QWERTY keyboards, dual SIM, touch UI, and so on.”

A new QWERTY phone, ZTE X990 has been spotted at the FCC. The low-end handset has been approved and comes with a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, web browser, music player, Bluetooth connectivity support, standard 3.5mm headset jack and a microSD memory card slot. Unfortunately, ZTE X990 has no 3G, it only has GSM/GPRS connectivity. No word on release date.

Nokia Surge 6790 for Rogers comingAccording to recent reports, Nokia Surge slider is coming to Rogers in Canada early next week. The handset features a 2 megapixel camera (with 4x zoom), 2.4-inch screen, full QWERTY keyboard, GPS, Bluetooth, microSD (up to 16GB) and more.

The Surge price plans are as follows: $49.99 on a 3-year contract, $99.99 on a 2-year, $199.99 on a 1-year and $279.99 outright.

LG has announced a new messaging phone that comes with full QWERTY keyboard, it’s the LG GW300. The mobile phone comes with a 2.4-inch screen, Bluetooth, media player, FM radio, 3.5mm headset jack, and a microSD memory card slot. There are also social networking apps like Facebook app. The handset also comes with LG’s LiveSquare application, allowing users to place their favorite contacts on the homescreen. LG GW300 will be available in the UK via O2 and Orange. No word on pricing and availability.
