Cricket Unlimited Mobile Video Downloads. Cricket Communications has recently announced a $5 monthly service for unlimited mobile video downloads. Customers can watch clips of 1 to 4 minutes in length, such as music videos, sports news, movie trailers and more. Interestingly, users will also be able to search and make recommendations. The service is available now on selected handsets through a WAP browser.

HTC Dream Video in the wild? Following the previous report about HTC Android in Q4 2008 as scheduled, Apparently we’ve recently spotted the live video of HTC’s “Dream” Android phone. The clip is blurry but the Android interface appears to be tweaked a bit from the last time we saw it, with an auto-rotating display and what appears to be a relatively responsive touchscreen. The phone looks good with the keyboard hidden, but when the panel slides out it reveals a Sidekick-esque design that might inspire more than its share of hatred. Video follows after the jump. HomeBrew HTC Video Acceleration Drivers. We’re already heard the previous report, HTC improving Video Acceleration, but it’s apparently not enough for many HTC customers. Fortunately, HTCClassAction organization is now able to help them without any help from HTC. They’ve created their own homebrew video acceleration drivers for certain smartphones. It’s a new video driver that works to enable some 3D acceleration on HTC Kaiser (TyTn II) handsets running the official Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM from HTC. The new video driver delivers 3D performance increases through OpenGL ES and Direct3D acceleration, but stops short of enabling 2D video acceleration, but the folks are still working on it.
