Nuance Communications has announced that it has acquired SpinVox, a leading provider of voice-to-text services to telecommunications companies across five continents. By integrating SpinVox’s carrier services with Nuance’s advanced speech recognition platform, Nuance will further accelerate the growth of its voice-to-text business and scale to meet the needs of a growing, global customer base.
Under the terms of the agreement, consideration for the transaction is approximately $102.5 million, comprising $66 million in cash and $36.5 million, or approximately 2.3 million shares, in Nuance common stock.
Bell has announced the Canadian introduction of Visual Voicemail on select BlackBerry smartphones from Bell Mobility, offering clients easy voicemail management and synchronization without calling into their voicemail box. Verizon Visual Voicemail Service. As a follow-up to the previous report about Verizon to offer Visual Voicemail, the carrier finally launches its visual voicemail service. At this time, Visual Voice Mail application will only be distributed on a revamped version of the popular Verizon LG Voyager Refresh. No words on other supported handsets, but they’re expected to support it as well.
