ZTE has introduced at the 2010 GSMA Mobile World Congress, together with Qualcomm, the world’s first ultra-slim big-screen BMP 3G smartphone – ZTE Bingo. In addition, ZTE is showcasing its 5 Android smartphone models for the first time. With the availability of Linux, Windows Mobile and OMS-platform mobile phones, ZTE is one of the few mobile phone manufacturers to offer smartphones for a variety of mobile operating systems.
ZTE Bingo adopts Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile Platform (BMP), which is the Mobile Operation System that provides high-end functionality to mobile terminals. In addition to full support for Adobe Flash, the platform also provides such advanced terminal functions as touch screen, multimedia, window management, open platform scalability and extended support for local application development. ZTE and Telefónica have announced that a full range of Movistar branded handsets will be launched in 12 Latin American countries during 2010, starting in Q2. Telefónica and ZTE signed an agreement for the development of a complete range of mobile devices. ZTE will manufacture Movistar branded handsets exclusively available for Telefónica in Latin America. A new report says that Verizon Wireless is getting ready to launch a ZTE phone, F350. No word on full specifications, but it seems the cellphone comes with Bluetooth, voice command, and a camera.
We’ve heard last year that ZTE would launch Android smartphone in the US. We’ve no idea what OS ZTE F350 would run. Verizon already has another ZTE product – the AD3700 USB modem, but this would be the first ZTE phone in its portfolio.

A new QWERTY phone, ZTE X990 has been spotted at the FCC. The low-end handset has been approved and comes with a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, web browser, music player, Bluetooth connectivity support, standard 3.5mm headset jack and a microSD memory card slot. Unfortunately, ZTE X990 has no 3G, it only has GSM/GPRS connectivity. No word on release date.

MetroPCS has added a new slider phone to its portfolio, Essenze by ZTE. The slider phone features a 2-inch screen, VGA camera, GPS navigation and the ChatLINK walkie-talkie service. ZTE Essenze slider phone is available on MetroPCS for $99 sans any contracts.
A new MTV-branded phone passes the FCC, it’s the ZTE F870. Coming with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, ZTE F870E features a 3 megapixel camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, email client and so on. From the phone’s user manual, it provides access to Vodafone’s MTV Music website and the Vodafone Pass MTV website – so we should expect the handset to be launched soon by Vodafone. No word on price but there are also screenshots which indicate that the F870E will be released by China Unicom too.

ZTE is apparently in active discussions with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless for their first Android smartphone, which be launched in 2010. Dale Ying, ZTE’s managing director of handset business marketing, said in an interview with Dow Jones Newswires that the company is planning to bring an Android-based handset to the U.S. market in 2010.

Verizon Wireless has announced its new ZTE’s AD3700 USB global modem. The USB modem works on both CDMA and GSM-based 3G networks (EV-DO and HSPA). It supports EV-DO in the States and HSPA around the world. It is available for $79.99 after a $50 rebate and with an appropriate mobile broadband plan.
