MetroPCS MetroFlash service for Sprint, Verizon, Alltel handsets. MetroPCS announced a new service called ‘MetroFlash’. With this, Sprint, Verizon, and Alltel phones can now be used on the MetroFlash flat-rate wireless service for a $40 a-month fee. CDMA mobile phones (which tested by MetroPCS) can be “flashed” by MetroPCS to work on their CDMA network. Of course, the service is limited to CDMA handsets, as GSM handsets, like the iPhone, work on a completely different communications standard.
MetroPCS ‘MetroFlash’ Customers will receive unlimited local and long distance calling along with voice mail features and text messaging. The company said customers also will be asked to pay a $30 fee, presumably to turn on their service.
