Optus has signed an agreement to acquire additional spectrum licences for 10 megahertz of paired spectrum in the 2100MHz band from Qualcomm. The deal is subject to approval from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB). Optus said that the deal will double its 3G (2100MHz) paired spectrum in the eight capital cities from 10MHz to 20MHz.
