iPhone SDK Beta 4 (OpenGL ES 3D graphics support). A new version of the iPhone SDK is now available, iPhone SDK Beta 4. Apple invites all interested developers to take advantage of the OpenGL ES support which is now included in the iPhone simulator.

ARM Mali-JSR297 Software Update for Mobile 3D Gaming. At the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, chip-designer ARM has announced an update to their graphics acceleration software. The ARM Mali-JSR297 software is said to be the “first product to enable developers of Java applications to take advantage of the latest hardware graphics features found in recent GPUs”.

Latest iPhone SDK beta allows Background Processes? Following the last post,
Android GPS Application + Video. Rafael Spring and Max Braun wrote a program, code named Enkin for Google’s Android that does just that as their submission to the Android Developer Challenge. Enkin is a 3d-navigation and location targeting system.
