Sanyo to be acquired by Panasonic

Sanyo to be acquired by Panasonic. Panasonic plans to make Sanyo a subsidiary by around April next year by buying preferred shares owned by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., Daiwa Securities SMBC Co. and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. The presidents of the two companies will hold a press conference on November 7th to announce details of the acquisition. The deal will result in one mega-corporation with revenues over ¥11.2 trillion (around $110 billion).

E-TEN Glofiish M750 and M810 launchedE-TEN Glofiish M750 and M810 launched. A new pair of Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional-powered QWERTY sliders, Glofiish M750 and M810 have been launched by E-TEN. Following the acquisition (E-TEN acquired by Acer), the devices are apparently ready to pull duty as the company’s new flagship Windows Mobile smartphones.

And recently Acer announced that it has entered into an agreement to buy E-TEN Information Systems Co. Ltd.
