X-plore 1.30 for Symbian S60 released. X-plore file manager apps for S60 has been updated, a new version 1.30 is now available, it brings several new enhancements to the the user interface, a theme support, and also fixes several minor issues with hex and shift editor.
X-plore 1.30 is a powerful file management utility for Symbian handsets, allowing users to copy, move or delete files and entire folders, create folders, create and unpack Zip archives. In addition, it also has integrated text and image viewer and more.

AppStore: 100 million+ downloads, 3,000+ apps. Apple announced that iPhone and iPod touch users have downloaded more than 100 million applications from its groundbreaking new App Store since its launch on July 11, 2008. More than 3,000 applications are currently available on the App Store, with over 90 percent priced at less than $10 and more than 600 offered for free.

How to Share Applications between iPhones. The Fairplay DRM that Apple uses to protect its iPhone applications from piracy allows you to authorize up to 5 computers to share your iTunes purchases. You can share iPhone apps with each other as long as both your iTunes are authorized to use them e.g. you want to share it with your wife/family. Melvin Rivera, a web developer located in New York has wrote a step by step tutorial on how to do it. Here’s a quick rundown of Melvin’s tutorial:
0. You can buy an app from your iTunes e.g. Super Monkey Ball game (This is just a sample for demonstration purposes)
1. Download the app to iTunes and sync to your iPhone
2. In your Family member’s mac, ‘Log In’ to their iTunes application with ‘your’ iTunes Store account
3. ‘Log Out’ and then back ‘Log In’
4. Inside iTunes, Go to the app store, Find Super Monkey Ball game and click ‘Buy’ App button
5. ‘Re-download’ the Super Monkey Ball game application
(iTunes knows you’ve already paid for this, you can download it again for free)
6. If download completes, then ‘Log Out’ of ‘your’ iTunes account
7. Log back in with your-family-member’s iTunes account
8. Sync the iPhone (The app should transfer)
9. and Done! You should now have Super Monkey Ball mobile game on two different iPhones.

Apple has sold one millionth iPhone 3G, just three days after the launch on Friday, July 11. iPhone 3G is now available in 21 countries, and will hit France on July 17th. The new iPhone 3G combines all the revolutionary features of iPhone plus 3G networking that is twice as fast, built-in GPS for expanded location-based mobile services, and iPhone 2.0 software which includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs over 800 third party applications available through the new App Store. Spb Software’s Apps for Toshiba Portégé G810. We’ve recently heard WinMo smartphone makers are making their custom UI to enhance the user experience, If Sony Ericsson decide to make its own UI for Xperia, Toshiba choose to license Spb Software’s apps to come pre-installed on Toshiba Portégé G810. The Toshiba Touch UI on Portégé G810 smartphone combines Spb Mobile Shell, a customized version of Spb Full Screen Keyboard, the Spb Pocket Plus smart scrolling component, and other Windows Mobile customization enhancements.
iPhone Applications in AppStore (70%) will be free. Following on the previous post, Apple AppStore to launch on June 27th?, A survey from WWDC indicates that around 70% of iPhone applications in AppStore may be free. According to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, “We see this as a positive indicator of the potential for Enterprise adoption of the iPhone,” he said. “We found the average cost of iPhone apps on the App Store to be $2.29, with 71% being free.” In speaking to iPhone developers, Munster also discovered that 70% of them have written applications for other mobile platforms, but approximately the same percentage of their iPhone-bound apps will not be made available for rival platforms.

StyleTap’s Palm OS Emulator for iPhone, iPod Touch. We just heard, Palm Nova - Linux-based Palm 2.0 OS?, and while we’re still waiting for it, you may want to use some of the older Palm OS apps on other, non-Palm OS powered devices. StyleTap just announced that it will be officially bringing its Palm OS emulator to the iPhone and iPod touch. Back in February StyleTap released a video demo of the StyleTap running Palm OS apps on a iPod Touch. The company says they have been overwhelmed by the level of interest and the video has been viewed over 800,000 times.
According to the company technically, StyleTap CrossPlatform is an excellent fit with the iPhone, as the powerful processor and large screen allows applications written for Palm OS devices to run at full speed and at full screen resolution.
