Both Bell Mobility and Rogers Wireless have officially launched BlackBerry OS 4.5 for their smartphones. This new OS update is for the Curve 8310 and 8320 if you’re on Rogers. The cellphone comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera, 2.2-inch screen, GPS, and Bluetooth. Interestingly, Bell is also launching a creative contest to give its users a chance to win a wine fridge. LG Wine on Bell Canada is available in black and gold for $79.95 with a 3-year contract.

“Bell Mobility will be in fact releasing the Storm in mid Q4/early Q1. Also it will be exclusive for 6 months to the Bell system. So Telus will have to wait.”

Participants on the trial can use their mobile phone to make “contactless” payments at any merchant that accepts MasterCard PayPass (24 million locations such as fast food restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores and convenience stores). No signature is not required for purchases under that is under 50 bucks. All you have to do is tap your phone (within 2 inches) to the payment reader and the dollar amount will show up on your monthly credit card statement.

Sadly, The cellphone has no 3G / WiFi. Samsung Ace will be available on May 12th when it officially hits the Bell’s portfolio.
