A new rumor reported that some handset manufacturer representatives at a recent AT&T store managers’ meeting started showing off their latest wares. One of which appeared to be the Samsung i780. Technically, it would have been the Samsung SGH-i788, which has the bands necessary for the US 3G networks. Samsung i788 is just a little thicker than the BlackJack II, features WiFi, GPS, and 3G. The rep mentioned that the Samsung i788 was not yet released instead of “Over the air.

Sadly, The cellphone has no 3G / WiFi. Samsung Ace will be available on May 12th when it officially hits the Bell’s portfolio.

Samsung BlackJack SGH-i607 Upgrade - Now Supports Windows Mobile 6Samsung has released a software upgrade for the BlackJack SGH-i607, which includes an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.0 and numerous enhancements/corrections. Samsung BlackJack or Samsung SGH-i607 is a smartphone available through AT&T in the United States and Telstra in Australia. Out of the box, it runs Windows Mobile 5.0, but as of January 23, 2008, can be officially upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.0.
