HTC MAX 4G - world’s first GSM/WiMAX handset for Scartel. HTC MAX 4G, the world’s first integrated GSM/WiMAX handset, has officially been announced by HTC to the Russian market. It will be available only from Russia’s Scartel WiMAX network (Yota).
HTC MAX 4G is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, it’s designed for ultra high-speed access to video on demand, full track music downloads, online gaming, file exchange and a host of Internet content at true broadband speeds.
Like the HTC Touch HD, HTC MAX 4G comes with the same 3.8 inch, 800×480 WVGA touch screen display. This mobile phone has also an integrated GPS receiver, WiFi and WiMAX radios for high-speed wireless data, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera, TouchFLO 3D UI, 8GB of onboard storage, and much more. Verizon 3G network enhancements across Florida completed. Verizon Wireless announced that it has completed enhancements to its most advanced 3G high-speed wireless network (EV-DO Rev. A) throughout Florida, allowing customers to browse the Internet, download music, send e-mail and multimedia messages, and access other advanced wireless services more reliably and at even faster broadband speeds.
The enhancements to the EV-DO Rev. A network — which stands for Evolution-Data Optimized Revision A — took nearly two years, and entailed installing the most advanced hardware and software on thousands of cell sites in the Verizon Wireless network in Florida, as well as updating and optimizing technology in five Verizon Wireless regional network switching facilities throughout the state. AT&T’s 3G Mobile Broadband Network Download Speeds Increase Up to 1.7 Mbps. AT&T announced a more than 20 percent increase to the top end of the company’s typical 3G network downlink speed range and a 50 percent increase to the top end of the typical uplink speed range for wireless laptop card customers(1). The upgrades are results of recent network enhancements, including the deployment of High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) technology across all existing 3G markets before the end of June. SmarTone chooses Ericsson for HSPA, Ericsson will supply a HSPA-enabled radio access network, including MBMS, and a fully IP-based core network (including IMS).
