New Gold Sony Ericsson W890, and Sony Ericsson K330 in White. A new report says that Sony Ericsson will release new color options for its cellphones, a new white colour trimming for the K330, and a gold one for the W890, a bit like the gold version of W880, that was introduced about a year ago. Helio White Mysto and Red Heat for Korean. Following the previous Virgin Mobile USA + Helio Acquisition not long ago, Two new cellphones by Helio have been released for Korean market, they are called “White Mysto” and “Red Heat”. Both devices are now available from Helio, they will be making initial stock of the White Mysto and Red Heat available to Korean customers.

Texas Instruments (TI) Pico projector for BlackBerry Curve. The folks behind CrunchGear have recently recorded an interesting video, they got their lucky hands on the latest TI Pico projector and managed to force the LED lit projector into a BlackBerry Curve. What?! is the space enough? Yeah, of course they needed to put some things out in order to make enough space for their components. This is really a good news for us as Texas Instruments already confirmed projectors in cellphones by end of 2008.

Samsung Phone + Infineon Chipsets. Samsung has reportedly made the move to start using more of Infineon’s chipsets in upcoming cellphones. Before Infineon, Samsung’s chipset needs used to be serviced by US-based Qualcomm. But Samsung suddenly decided in April that Qualcomm just won’t cut it any more. Philips 198, 199 low-end Phones for Europe, Asia. Philips announced two new mobile phones, Philips 198 and 199 model. The cellphones are targeting the lower end of the market in Asia and Europe. Both devices (Philips 198 and 199) sport miniUSB connectivity for charging and data transfer. The lower-number 198 model comes with the FM Radio. In addition to the lack of features, the phones are small, measuring 99×42×13.5 mm and weighing only 65 grams. Philips 198 and 199 should be available in a few months for about $62.

Texas Instruments confirms projectors in cellphones by end of 2008. John Van Scoter, the senior vice president of Texas Instruments (TI), has confirmed that projectors in mobile phones are coming later this year when he was speaking in Taipei at a TI forum on May 14th. We’ll be seeing some handset manufacturers putting TI’s miniaturized projectors inside cellphones on the consumer market. BlackBerry 9000 Hands-On Review (from auction on eBay). Some hands-on impressions of the BlackBerry 9000 that was up for auction on eBay not too long ago. CrackBerry.com has a nice hands-on review about the smartphone. The cellphones comes with 480 x 320 HVDA Color LCD display, improved QWERTY keyboard (apparently much improved over the 8800 series’ QWERTY keys), BlackBerry OS 4.6 which is fast and smooth enough.
