Android Developer Challenge Winners. The winners of the Android Developer Challenge (ADC) has been announced by Google. 50 developers participated in this event and all 50 applications that emerged from Round 1 of ADC I showed great promise. We all have been eager to see who the winners of $275,000 and $100,000 would be. The Top 20 ADC competitors, as well as the finalist group, can be found in ADC gallery here.
Android Market announced. Following the previous rumor about Android to have AppStore like the iPhone?, Here’s now an official announcement about it. Android Market is an open content distribution system that will help end users find, purchase, download and install various types of content on their Android-powered devices. The concept is simple: leverage Google’s expertise in infrastructure, search and relevance to connect users with content created by developers.

OpenClip for iPhone Cut-Paste. Yeah, as many iPhone users can’t wait for iPhone copy Paste functionality to be released by Apple. Here’s now another hope is promised by an independent developer, Zac White, an open-source solution called: ‘OpenClip’. Actually there have been efforts by other iPhone developers to introduce this feature before. Another developer, Preston Monroe, has created a hack called iCopy that lets iPhone owners copy and paste between the e-mail and Web browser applications. New Beta of iPhone 2.1 Firmware with Push Notification Service. As a follow-up to the previous iPhone 2.1 Firmware beta + GPS features, Apple has released another 2.1 firmware release to developers (2nd beta), iPhone 2.1 SDK with Push Notification Service. The new version appears to include several bug fixes.
“This is the second beta of the iPhone SDK targeting iPhone OS 2.1, including bug fixes to iPhone OS as well as an early implementation of the Apple Push Notification Service API. This API is not yet integrated with a live push server.”
No word on the final version of iPhone 2.1 Firmware release date, but the included “Push Notification Service” was promised by September.

iPhone 2.1 Firmware beta + GPS features. Following the previous iPhone Copy Paste in iPhone 2.1 SDK, A new report says that Apple has released a beta version of iPhone OS 2.1 to developers. The firmware has shown an updated Core Location library that is capable of tracking the iPhone’s direction and velocity of movement, tracking the direction you are heading, and the speed you are traveling.
