LG KP152 clamshell for entry-level users. A new stylish LG clamshell, KP152, has been released in Brazil. The mobile phone comes with a tri-band GSM/GPRS radio on board, VGA camera, FM radio, and a 800 mAh Li-Ion battery. As for the size, the LG KP152 measures 88×47×17.3 mm and has a weight of 80 grams.
LG KP152 clamshell costs about $10 in red or black, and will also be available in Europe. Russia is the first to be able to grab the mobile phone.

100 Mbps Mobile Broadband. According to the GSM Association, Mobile broadband will reach speeds of 100Mbps before fixed line broadband. New 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology could deliver ’super-fast’ speeds on the move. “Tests show LTE can produce speeds up to 186 Mbps,” said GSMA director of technology Dan Warren. But, they’re not the actual data speeds, they vary with distance from the base station and interference. The actual data speeds of 100Mbps are expected by 2010 in Japan and South Korea, with Europe getting 100Mbps wireless data speeds by 2012.

Garmin Mobile for GPS-enabled BlackBerry is available for $99.99 in the U.S. And, now Good news for Europeans, the application is now offered by Garmin in Europe for 89.99 GBP (about $179.99). Users with GPS-enabled BlackBerrys can get Garmin Mobile’s turn-by-turn, voice prompted directions for the life of their smartphone. Users will also have unlimited access to such content such as maps, millions of POIs, as well as Navteq’s database of points of interest, and easy-to-use navigation software.

LG KF300 Wine for Europe and Japan. A new fashion phone was unveiled by LG in Japan and Europe. LG KF300 Wine clamshell is a tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGGE phone that sports two displays, 2.2-inch QVGA main screen, and 1.3-inch 128×160 pixels external display. There are also a 2 megapixel camera with auto-focus, Bluetooth connectivity support, 10 MB of internal memory, media player, FM radio, and microSD memory expansion slot. The fashion phone measures at 98.8×49.5×16.2 mm. No word on pricing yet.

Hancock Mobile Game by Glu Mobile. Glu Mobile has just announced that it is bringing Hancock, the upcoming Will Smith movie, to a mobile game. The publisher will be releasing the official mobile game here in Europe on behalf of Sony Pictures Television International, as part of a wider distribution agreement between the two companies. Hancock Mobile Game is due out later this month, tying in with the film’s release.

HTC Touch Pro (aka Raphael) now Official. HTC Raphael was officially announced as HTC Touch Pro. This super-phone sports a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, it runs Windows Mobile 6.1 featuring HTC’s TouchFLO 3D interface, and it’s powered by Qualcomm’s MSM7201A 528 MHz CPU. The smartphone also features a 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, microSD memory expansion slot, 288 MB of RAM coupled with 512MB of ROM, 2.8-inch VGA screen, including HSDPA, GPS, WiFi. It’s much thicker than HTC Touch Diamond. The 18.05mm thick device weighs 165 grams. Windows Mobile to Grow 50% per-Year. According to Reuters, Microsoft expects global units sales of its Windows Mobile software to grow at least 50 percent in the fiscal years 2008 and 2009. The Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Brazilian, Russian and Indian regions are the fastest-growing smartphone markets, but Europe and the US are still getting positive growth. “We’re actually still seeing very good growth (for our mobile software) in markets like Europe and the United States,” said Eddie Wu, Microsoft’s managing director of OEM embedded devices Asia.
