HTC Touch Diamond ROM Update 1.93. New HTC Touch Diamond ROM is now available for HTC customers. This new ROM version 1.93 can be downloaded through HTC’s support site. Apparently, this ROM firmware improves camera navigation, text alert speed, tab-switching speed and a new city selector in the weather tab to make it easier and quicker to choose your location. We recommend you to backup your files, pictures and other documents before upgrading your Diamond. You can download it via HTC eClub here.

Apple Logo Screen of Death Troubleshooting. Many users of iPhone OS 2.0 and 2.0.1 firmware have reported on Apple’s Discussion boards that iPhone application installations and updates can randomly trigger an iPhone crash. The screen goes dark, comes back on, displays the white Apple Logo. Apparently it also requires an iPhone restore to bring things back to normal. Yeah, you have to perform a complete restore on the iPhone! Restoring the iPhone as new would result in losing your personal data such as text messages, applications, notes, contacts, etc so you will have to manually sync them.

Apple can Blacklist and Disable iPhone Apps. Newly discovered code within the iPhone 2.0 Firmware and the newer iPhone 2.0.1 OS has confirmed that Apple has built a blacklisting mechanism in to the iPhone. The device can phone home, check for unauthorized applications, and disable them. White Samsung Omnia i900? We’ve already seen the all-touchscreen device only in black, and what’s now? another choice will emerge as a white version will be released. Samsung i900 Omnia runs Windows Mobile 6.1, a 5 megapixel camera with face-detection and geo-tagging, optical joystick. Interestingly, the company will be releasing a new firmware which includes new widgets for the custom Home screen and a brand-new Hanyu Pinyin text input method for typing in Chinese characters. Samsung can confirm these changes only for Singapore at the moment.

New Beta of iPhone 2.1 Firmware with Push Notification Service. As a follow-up to the previous iPhone 2.1 Firmware beta + GPS features, Apple has released another 2.1 firmware release to developers (2nd beta), iPhone 2.1 SDK with Push Notification Service. The new version appears to include several bug fixes.
“This is the second beta of the iPhone SDK targeting iPhone OS 2.1, including bug fixes to iPhone OS as well as an early implementation of the Apple Push Notification Service API. This API is not yet integrated with a live push server.”
No word on the final version of iPhone 2.1 Firmware release date, but the included “Push Notification Service” was promised by September.
