Data Wipe Feature for iPhone 2.0 Firmware completely erases user data. It’s good to hear that Apple has rolled out a data security feature in the new iPhone firmware revision that will securely erase user data. iPhone 2.0 OS features an enhanced data-wiping capability built into its “Erase iPhone” feature. The current feature doesn’t allow for a complete memory wipe of user data, but screenshots of the iPhone 2.0 OS’s data-wipe feature shows that a more complete solution has been developed to wipe all traces of user data from the iPhone’s memory. Nokia N78 Firmware Update (OTA). A new firmware over-the-air (OTA) update for European Nokia N78 users, it’s a 2MB size v11.043 firmware. The release includes improved stability with Bluetooth (headsets and car kits) and music (playback over a long time and content refresh). Alltel Treo 755p ROM update. A new ROM update for Palm Treo 755p has been released on the Alltel network. Palm only said: “This software update is for a phone reset issue that occurs under certain specific and rare conditions.” This new version 1.03 firmware seems like a stability update.
Maybe you’re already aware of this: Prior to updating you should perform a Hotsync to save your data. Palm advises that users allow up to 45 minutes for the operation. ROM updater executables for users with and without miniSD cards are available for Windows users. Mac users must run the launcher from an external expansion card.
