HTC Touch HD for Orange in UK, O2 in Germany

Recently, Orange UK announced that the HTC Touch HD will also be available in the UK from early November, exclusively on the Orange network. HTC Touch HD features a huge 3.8-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) screen, 5 megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 6.1, HTC TouchFLO 3D UI (user interface), WiFi, HSDPA, and more.

No word on how much the Touch HD will be available in Germany. HTC Touch HD is exclusive on the Orange UK network until 2009 from £79.99 on an 18 month, £40 per month contact (Package includes inclusive option of anytime mobile internet browsing (subject to 250Mb per month). The handset will also be available from Orange in France and Romania in the forthcoming months.

MGM Channel, which is currently available to pay television subscribers all across German-speaking Europe, will now also be available to mobile subscribers through Vodafone. The MGM Channel is available on the 3G Vodafone Live! network in Germany, offering movies from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film library - including films from the Pink Panther and Rocky franchises, as well as The Thomas Crown Affair, Terminator, Man in the Iron Mask and Robocop, among many others.

Vodafone Live! reaches about six million customers with video capable handsets, and currently offer over 40 channels, in addition to an EPG for all mobile TV channels, and free TV reminders over SMS.

Starting from August 6th, the unlocked 8 GB Samsung i900 Omnia will also be available for whooping 649 EUR without any contract.

Customers have to snap pictures of the barcodes on all groceries as they load up the cart. When it comes time to check-out, all the barcodes recorded are tallied up and consolidated in to a barcode. Then, an automated kiosk will take care of scanning the barcode on your mobile phone’s display, and prompt you for payment.

Subscribers willing to sign a contract for a €69/month wireless plan will be offered an 8GB Apple iPhone 3G for just 1 EUR, and a 16GB iPhone 3G costs 40 euros. With an 89 Euro per month plan, you can still get the 8GB iPhone for 1 Euro, but the 16GB model will cost only 20 Euros. With a base 29 Euro per month plan, the 8GB iPhone will cost 170 Euros and the 16GB iPhone 260 Euros.
