Apple iPhone 3G Full Specifications. As the Apple iPhone 3G was introduced by Steve Jobs at WWDC 2008, and we can’t wait for the newly announced iPhone-successor to be available on July 11th. The iPhone 3G has all of the new iPhone 2.0 functionality, including Enterprise support for Exchange, as well as the newly announced MobileMe service. Two versions of the iPhone 3G will be available, one with 8GB priced at $199 and one with 16GB, priced at $299. Both have solid metal buttons, a flush headphone jack, thinner-edged casing and the same 3.5-inch touchscreen. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 white paper shows two versions (X1a and X1c). There are two XPERIA X1 variants, X1a and X1c. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1a will sport a quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) radio and a tri-band (850/1900/2100Mhz) UMTS/HSPA radio for 3G data connectivity, while the X1c changes things up with a tri-band (900/1900/2100Mhz) UMTS/HSPA 3G radio. iPhone 2.0 Firmware + Embedded YouTube Videos. The next version of the iPhone OS will feature the ability to embed YouTube videos directly into a webpage allowing the user to click through and view video in the dedicated YouTube application. The feature works in a fashion similar to that of the bookmarklet ‘iTransmogrify’ from the last post (How to View Embedded YouTube for iPhone).
The feature works similarly to the way that iTransmogrify can make embedded YouTube videos viewable in the webpage. But, while iTransmogrify uses a bit of data URL magic to get its work done, the new iPhone v2.0 firmware apparently uses a Safari plug-in to play nice withe embedded YouTube videos. BBC iPlayer for iPhone Now Live. BBCiPlayer is now available on iPhone and iPod touch. To play BBC programmes on your iPhone or iPod touch, you’ll need to be online via a wi-fi broadband connection (the iPhone’s EDGE connectivity is too slow for streaming video).
