3UK Faster HSDPA and HSUPA 3G speeds3UK: Faster HSDPA and HSUPA 3G speeds. 3UK has announced that the network operator is planning to have 14.4Mbps speeds rolled out across the UK by 2010. 3 has already completed a rollout to give more than 95 per cent of the UK’s population access to 3.6Mb/s HSDPA. It hopes to raise that speed to 7.2Mb/s by 2010 – the same time that the big cities get 14.4Mb/s HSDPA and 5.7Mb/s HSUPA.

Samsung W600 HSUPA phoneSamsung W600 HSUPA phone. A new 5M camera phone by Samsung has been unveiled during KES 2008. The mobile phone supports HSUPA, a 3G mobile telephony protocol in the HSPA family with up-link speeds up to 5.76 Mbit/s.

Samsung W600 features a 800 x 480 WVGA, 3″ touchscreen LCD with haptic feedback, a 5 megapixel camera and mobile TV via T-DMB, Internet full browsing, and a 15.3mm-thick slim design.

Samsung W600 HSUPA phone is expected to be available for between 800,000(KRW) and 900,000(KRW) through LG Telecom in this month, and via SKT and KTF in November.

NTT DOCOMO, Renesas Technology, Fujitsu Limited, and Sharp Corporation announced that they plan to jointly develop the SH-Mobile G4 single-chip LSI device, and a platform incorporating it, to support the HSUPA/HSDPA/W-CDMA and GSM/GPRS/EDGE (2G) mobile telephony standards. O2 Ireland has boosted its service with HSUPA up to 1.4 Mbps and HSDPA (downstream) at 7.2 Mbps. The devices which are HSUPA capable include the USB Modem E270, USB Stick E170 and Express Card E870. O2 customers can subscribe the service online or at stores.

Let’s recap, This all-touchscreen device features a large 2.8-inch display, QVGA (240×320 pixels). There’s also WiFi, GPS (and A-GPS support), Bluetooth, FM radio, HSDPA/HSUPA, and a microSD memory expansion slot. Toshiba Portégé G810 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 with some custom UI, and sports up to 4GB of memory (microSD).
