A new report says that Rogers Wireless Canada will be offering the HTC Touch Diamond for $599.99 without any contracts. The latest issue of UR Magazine, free to all Rogers Wireless subscribers, is currently being mailed out all across Canada and is featuring the HTC Touch Diamond. While the device doesn’t appear anywhere on the Rogers website and no release date or contract pricing has been given, the unsubsidised price was published as being $599.99.

According to new leaked internal documents, the successor to the HTC Touch, HTC Opal, will feature a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM connectivity, HTC Touch’s TI OMAP 200MHz processor, 128MB RAM / 256MB ROM, 802.11 b/g WiFi radio, microSD card slot, 2 megapixel camera, and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity from the HTC Touch.

HTC Opal will also run Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and TouchFLO 3D interface. It will also be released in multiple colors. No word on pricing nor release date yet. Stay tuned.

HTC Touch Diamond ROM Update 1.93

HTC Touch Diamond ROM Update 1.93. New HTC Touch Diamond ROM is now available for HTC customers. This new ROM version 1.93 can be downloaded through HTC’s support site. Apparently, this ROM firmware improves camera navigation, text alert speed, tab-switching speed and a new city selector in the weather tab to make it easier and quicker to choose your location. We recommend you to backup your files, pictures and other documents before upgrading your Diamond. You can download it via HTC eClub here.
