HTC Victor P3702 - Touch Diamond without angled back. We are already aware of HTC Touch Diamond with its angled back. And take a look at the image below, HTC apparently also releases another version of the Touch Diamond that sports a flat back to replace the angled edges on the current version. Most smartphone buyers choose iPhone 3G. A recent survey by RBC Capital Markets indicates a majority of consumers in the market for a new smartphone are seriously considering the iPhone 3G as their handset of choice. The investment bank says it ran a survey of some 3,600 members of its Technology Adoption Panel in the aftermath of June 9th’s 3G announcement, and found that of those planning to get a smartphone in the next 90 says, 56 percent wanted the new iPhone 3G. And 23% of smartphone buyers were waiting it out for a new BlackBerry handset. Palm got 3%, while HTC, Nokia, and Samsung only 2% of the votes, and Motorola just 1% of respondents. HTC Touch Pro, Touch Diamond for Verizon and Sprint. As a follow-up to the previous HTC Touch Pro CDMA version approved by the FCC, a new information was revealed by PhoneArena, reporting that HTC Touch Pro and the Diamond will apparently come to Verizon Wireless and also Sprint. It’s good to hear that these smartphones will be available soon, we can’t wait, just Stay tuned.

HTC Touch Pro CDMA version approved by the FCC. The CDMA version of HTC Touch Pro with model number “RAPH800″ has been spotted passing the FCC hurdle. The mobile phone will feature CDMA with EV-DO on the 850 and 1900MHz bands. Like the original GSM-based HTC Touch Pro, this cdma version will also sport WiFi, uber-cool TouchFLO 3D user interface, VGA screen and more. We may see this superphone to be available soon on Verizon and Sprint. Stay tuned.

HTC T-Mobile Shadow II with UMA. Following on previous post, HTC CONV100 on FCC, T-Mobile Shadow II?, A new report says that HTC will make Shadow II UMA handset for T-Mobile USA. It will be T-Mobile USA’s first Windows Mobile-based UMA (unlicensed mobile access) handset. T-Mobile Shadow 2 is the successor to the original T-Mobile Shadow (basically a re-branded HTC Juno). The company planning to launch the device in the fourth quarter of this year (Q4 2008).

HTC New Mobile Internet Device (MID). Market sources in Taiwan indicated that HTC is developing new MID (Mobile Internet Device) products, using Intel’s Atom and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset platforms. New devices are likely to be unveiled in the second half of 2008. According to HTC’s President and CEO, Peter Chou, they will continue to focus on “Internet experience through mobile devices” but will also adjust its deployment of UMPC products (HTC Shift). The reason for the change in their UMPC strategy is the rise of small and affordable laptop computers like the Asus eeePC, which people buy more.

Vodafone + China-based Amoi Electronics for Windows Mobile Smartphones. According to sources in Taiwan’s handset industry, China-based Amoi Electronics has landed orders to make Windows Mobile smartphones for Vodafone. The move will make the Chinese company the third supplier of Windows Mobile-based mobile devices for the UK-based telecom giant, which at the moment purchases such devices from HTC and Asustek.
