Yahoo! onePlace, Yahoo! Go 3.0 for Europe

Yahoo! onePlace, Yahoo! Go 3.0 for EuropeYahoo! onePlace, Yahoo! Go 3.0 for Europe. Yahoo announced onePlace “, the industry’s first mobile content management service,” which enables consumers to “improve the management of the wide range of content available over the Internet.” The idea is to provide a single point from which users can access all the contents of their favorite contents either static or dynamic.

Yahoo’s onePlace includes such features as centralized and open content management from where users add or link any content they want, personalized views (Collections, Categories, Pulse, Favorites), dynamic content (sources) updates, mobile RSS reader, and smart organization which enables users to group content and create “rich experience around a specific topic.” Yahoo! onePlace is expected to launch in Q2 2008. Firefox Mobile Release by year's end 2008Firefox Mobile Release by year’s end 2008. Mozilla has to work with wireless carriers before it can roll out its Firefox Mobile browser. But, that doesn’t mean that Mozilla will be held up in releasing their Firefox Mobile browser. The mobile web-browser is set for release by year’s end 2008.

“I think that some carriers will basically fight this kicking and screaming, and some will embrace it and move ahead quickly,” said Christian Sejersen, head of Mozilla’s mobile engineering group in Copenhagen. The idea is to provide customers with instant access to information such as weather and stock updates; top news stories; and entertainment, sports and business news. The information is presented in a “glanceable format,” and is easily accessible directly from the home screen of a device. Content is automatically updated so that customers have immediate access to the content that matters most to them.
