Nokia announced the availability of the latest Software Development Kit (SDK) for SNAP Mobile, its end-to end solution for connected mobile gaming in Java technology. The SNAP Mobile SDK 2.2 provides developers with a number of innovative tools to make it significantly easier to create connected mobile games. New features include a game template, skinable user interface framework, support for J2SE and Bot API. EA Mobile + Eidos Partnership for Mobile Games. Eidos and EA Mobile signed a partnership to grant EA Mobile exclusive rights to certain titles in Eidos’ catalog. The deal provides licenses to EA across all existing mobile devices for “Tomb Raider Underworld,” “Just Cause 2,” “California Games X,” and “Minesweeper.” EA also gets future options for mobile versions of the majority of Eidos’ video game properties for three years.

Touchgrind Multi-touch Skate iPhone Game by Illusion Labs. Illusion Labs has created a multi-touch skate game for the iPhone. The game is unique in that finger gestures are used for control, similar to the motion of the legs and feet on a real skateboard.
The player rides freely in a skatepark and performs tricks on ramps, boxes and rails. The dynamic and innovative controls together with the game being built on a high quality physics engine gives the players a high degree of freedom to come up with their own tricks. Sony Playstation Mobile Games via Player X. Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios announced the appointment of Player X to publish mobile games based on its key PlayStation franchises Buzz! and Destruction Derby. This is the first time SCE WWS has licensed its titles to be published by a third party on mobile. Under the terms of the three-year deal, Player X, with its distribution network of more than 150 global operators and potential audience of more than 2.5 billion people, will have exclusive rights to publish the two titles launching shortly in the European market.
The mobile phone version of the popular Buzz! franchise will be the first title realised in autumn 2008 with, Destruction Derby following in early 2009. Both games will be supported by a fully integrated cross-platform marketing campaign with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) for the PAL territories. Buzz! titles for PlayStation 2 have now shipped more than five million units across the PAL region, along with a further 1.25 million units in the Buzz Junior range. Meanwhile the first Buzz! games for PLAYSTATION 3 and PSP just launched last month.
