Skyfire Mobile Web browser adds Silverlight support. Skyfire gets Silverlight support without its users having to install a new plug-in or even update the browser version. Skyfire browser is currently in private beta on the Windows Mobile and Symbian platforms.

Iris Browser for Windows Mobile hits final preview. The final preview of Iris browser for WinMo has been announced by Torch Mobile, version 1.0.13 is now available for WinMo smartphones.
This release features primarily stability fixes and improvements on memory usage, network stability, and rendering quality, including fixes for Asian language sites.
Iris Browser for Windows Mobile also includes two major new features: page overview, and single-column (MDR) mode.

Sprint Web mobile portal. Sprint is making it easier for mobile internet users to get the content they want with the launch of Sprint Web, a next-generation mobile Web browsing experience on popular Sprint phones. Sprint Web offers an adaptive home page that delivers content based on the customer’s previous usage, along with direct access to search from Google. This enhancement is automatic for Sprint customers who currently access the mobile Web on these phones and requires no additional action on their part.
Sprint Web is available today on 40+ popular Sprint phones, including RAZR2 by Motorola, Centro by Palm, Rumor by LG, Upstage by Samsung, and Katana DLX by Sanyo. Sprint plans to make Sprint Web available on virtually all Web-capable Sprint feature phones over the coming weeks. The introduction of Sprint Web follows Sprint’s launch earlier this year of a more PC-like open Internet browsing experience on its phones, which provides more user-friendly renderings of Internet sites, even those not optimized for mobile devices.
