Nokia E63 approved by FCCNokia E63 approved by FCC. As a follow-up to the recent Nokia E63 officially announced, this QWERTY-enabled smartphone has finally been approved b the FCC. Like the popular Nokia E71, Nokia E63 comes with the same QVGA screen (320×240 pixels), Symbian S60 OS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 2.4-inch screen, FM radio, quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio and 3G (HSDPA) data connectivity (varying by regional variants).

Nokia E63 officially announcedNokia E63 officially announced. Following the recent Nokia E63 appeared at the Symbian Smartphone Show, the Nokia Eseries smartphone has finally been announced by Nokia. The Nokia E63 is the cheaper and low-end version of the more elegant Nokia E71. Both are significantly more compact than Nokia E61i.

Nokia E63 vs E71 Specifications:
+ Instead of the E71’s stainless steel casing, Nokia E63 is now more plasticy.
+ Nokia E63 has an improved QWERTY keyboard — “CTRL and “CHR” now have separate keys and so do “@” and “/”.
+ Nokia E63 is slightly thicker than the E71, measuring 113×59×13 mm/126g as opposed to the E71’s 114×57×10 mm/127g.
+ If Nokia E71 has a 2.5mm jack, the E63 has now a “more regular” 3.5mm audio jack.
+ Unlike the popular Nokia E71, Nokia E63 lacks GPS.
+ Nokia E63 has 2 megapixel camera as opposed to Nokia E71’s 3.2 megapixels camera.

Firmware Updates for Nokia E71, E66

Firmware Updates for Nokia E71, E66Firmware Updates for Nokia E71, E66. New firmware upgrades are now available for Nokia E71 and Nokia E66. Many bugs have been fixed, some of the pre-installed applicaitons updated, so the smartphones are now more stable. The new firmware update brings a number of performance improvements, including camera viewfinder orientation, Mail for Exchange synchronisation and browsing.

You can download the firmware upgrades for your Nokia E71 and E66 from the Nokia Software Updater or through Nokia PC Suite.

Nokia E63 appeared at the Symbian Smartphone Show. Following the previous Nokia E63 spotted in the wild, the Nseries smartphone makes it debut at the Symbian smartphone show. Looking very much like Nokia E71, E63 sports a black coat of paint, instead of the red we previously saw, and a condensed keyboard that fits 8 keys and a mini space bar across the bottom. Following the popular Nokia E71 Phone of the Year 2008, a new rumor says that Nokia is apparently preparing another QWERTY keyboard equipped smartphone like E71 coming with no metal construction (plastic only) except Navikey and camera module, it’s Nokia E63. The mobile phone has been caught in the wild.

+ Bluetooth, WiFi
+ QVGA screen (320×240 pixels)
+ Camera: At least 2 megapixels. No Front Camera.

+ Standard 3.5 mm audio jack (E71 has a 2.5 mm jack)

Nokia E75 spotted in the wild. New Nokia E-series handset, E75 QWERTY slider phone, has recently been spotted in the wild. Interestingly, according to the rumor, there’s QWERTY keyboard that’s rumored to lie beneath the slide-out display, alas we don’t get a clear shot. Nokia E71 for Fido CanadaNokia E71 for Fido Canada. A new rumor from MobilySyrup’s Nokia insider has reported that Nokia E71 will be exclusively coming to Fido in Canada, targeted for a November launch. According to the source, it will not be coming to Rogers. No word on price yet.

Nokia E71 also includes a number of entertainment features and supports many of the latest Ovi services including Nokia Maps and Share on Ovi. With integrated A-GPS and Nokia Maps 2.0, the Nokia E71 can easily pinpoint locations and provide optional turn-by-turn navigation information. The device also captures high-quality images and videos with its 3.2 megapixel camera, which can be quickly uploaded and shared with friends and family around the world using the fun and easy Share on Ovi service.
