Quake-maker: iPhone better than Nintendo DS + PSP combined. John Carmack, the Quake founder said that iPhone better than dedicated gaming systems. He mentions that the handset is “more powerful than a Nintendo DS and PSP combined”. Carmack says that id is currently toiling away to release 2 new iPhone games through the AppStore, one ‘conventional mobile game,’ and another intended to take the iPhone to its graphical limits. It can be a good sign for mobile gamers when Carmack says something has some power behind it, especially statements from the co-founder of id, the company that created one of the more hardware-intensive gaming titles out there.

Sony for PSP Phone without Ericsson? A new rumor said that Sony will split from Ericsson for PSP phone because of “Frosty” relationship. An industry source is quoted as saying the relationship between Sony and Sony Ericsson has become “frosty”, that Sony has learned from its “strategic error” of giving its Walkman name to Sony Ericsson and that Sony would “never” give its PlayStation branding to the Sony Ericsson joint venture. We can’t wait fot the PlayStation-branded-mobile-phone to come. Stay tuned.
