Vringo also brings to Patlican members a library of pay-per-clip premium video ringtones, culled from the company’s relationships with international content owners such as leading music aggregator INGrooves and local Turkish content partners. Japanese firm aims for Guinness World Records book with the world’s longest ringtone. A Japanese firm, Dwango, aims for a Guinness big book of records with the world’s longest ringtone with their 61 minutes and 40 seconds long melody. Supplier Dwango has previously made a ringtone that is audible only to dogs, so it has some form in the field. All Dwango’s ringtones are available as part of a ¥315 (£1.70) monthly package.
Stewart Copeland soundtrack for BlackBerry Bold. RIM commissions the prolific composer and former drummer for The Police to create a ’soundtrack’ for the BlackBerry Bold. The result was a signature five-note melody which Copeland expanded into a percussive minute-long track simply named ‘Bold’ that’s preloaded (along with mock-up album art!) into the Bold’s ‘Sample Songs’ folder. In addition, a softer version with a fade-in is used as an “alarm tone”, while six variations (excerpts form various parts of the Bold theme) are available as ringtones.
The Dark Knight Mobile Game by Glu. Good news for Batman fans, “The Dark Knight” mobile game has been released by Glu Mobile in advance of the Cinema debut on July 25th. This is the second Warner Bros title for Glu, the first being

AT&T launches Ringtone A-List - Celebrities’ Favorite Tones. AT&T recently launched “Ringtone A-List”, tones that are rockin celebs’ phones. Each month, the Ringtone A-List will feature a selection of stars from TV, film, music and sports. Fans will have the opportunity to learn which tones each celebrity has downloaded to his or her wireless phone, preview an audio clip and, if they wish, purchase the tone directly from the Web site.
